Why Reverse Vending Works
Reverse vending is a system in which a reverse vending machine (RVM) automates
the used beverage container recycling and redemption process. The RVM
accepts the used container(s) directly from the consumer, accounts for
each one accepted and generates a receipt for a refund for the container
deposit(s).
CBSI’s Reverse Vending Machines can offer you and your customers an efficient and
cost effective way to deal with the beverage container redemption process.
Some of the many reasons reverse vending works for you:
• Labor Costs — Less touch time for
employees means more time can be spent on profitable activities instead of on hand counting
used beverage containers.
• Accountability — Our RVMs track all
activity with a transparent accounting system, reducing shrink and fraud. Plus you can
retrieve data in real time.
• Use of Space — Collect used beverage
containers in a controlled environment and consolidate them. You save on storage space.
• Greater Convenience — Customers
‘self serve’ allowing them to redeem containers quickly and on their own time.
You increase your store’s traffic and help your customer’s feel better about
participating in the redemption process.

•
Greater Cleanliness — No more sticky mess or beverage residue on the floors or inside your location.
•
Lowered Risk of Injury — Employees no longer handle dirty, broken beverage containers resulting in fewer injuries.
•
Adaptability to Bottle Bill Legislation
— Across the US Bottle Bill Legislation is continuing to expand and
change. In Oregon alone a bottle bill expansion is set to go into effect Jan. of 2009 which
will require stores to accept even more containers. CBSI is committed to helping you and your customers deal with new legislation in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
